Cody Roth and Daniel Woods sent double digit problems on a crisp April afternoon at the boulder strewn Ponderosa National Forest. Located just 45 minutes north and west of Albuquerque, New Mexico, the area sports 30 foot high, volcanic tuff boulders, littered across acres and acres of National Forest land.

After competing for four hours, then flashing U-Mound’s “Duran Highball” (V9) the day before, Daniel Woods sent “Triple Mullet” (V10) in just three attempts. Daniel then made quick work of “Ichuro” (V10) a few minutes later. At thirteen-years-old, “Triple Mullet” was Daniel’s first V10.

Afterwards, the team moved on to a new project at the “Nascar Boulder” – a
picture-perfect boulder that has everything from steep angles to
delicate face climbing. The track was an obvious line across the
steep underside of the boulder.
Test driving Daniel's new Testarossas, Cody Roth peeled out of the starting
line, traversed the long horizontal straight-away,
then hit a sharp turn and idled up the vertical face to cross the
finish line. Cody's trophy was the first assent of “Mario Andreti” (V11/12).
